UBCF is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. We have anchored our efforts in breast & whole-body health, prevention, early detection and assisting women, men & families managing breast cancer right now.
Founded in October 2000, the United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that began as a small grassroots organization serving low-income, under and non-insured women and men in New York State. UBCF is headquartered in Huntington Station, NY and along with a regional office in Annapolis MD, we currently serve women, men and their families across the country. UBCF provides the community seven unique, life-supporting patient and family programs: Breast Screening, Individual Grant, Breast Reconstruction, Audrey B. Mastroianni College Scholarship, Holistic Care, Child Sponsorship and Domestic Services.
UBCF’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. We aid in providing screening, treatment, after-care, educational material, patient and family assistance and information. UBCF provides grants to hospitals and community health centers to benefit patients and families coping with breast cancer. We strive to alleviate the stress and strain that cancer can cause to patients and families and to foster health and well-being through both traditional and holistic treatments by never denying anyone service regardless of age, race, income, gender, ethnicity or medical insurance coverage.
UBCF is supported by a dedicated Board of Directors and staff, providing our clients with excellent service, compassion and care throughout their entire experience with us. UBCF is managed by a dedicated team of women, affectionately coined “Team UBCF”. Ms. Stephanie Mastroianni, our Executive Director since 2002, has shaped UBCF into the wonderful organization that it is today due in large part to her personal experience with breast cancer as her mother passed away from this disease at the age of 42. Each of UBCF’s seven programs have evolved from this personal experience. In 2005, under Ms. Mastroianni’s leadership, UBCF expanded to reach the national community and Beth Reichart joined the Team as Director of Operations. UBCF’s other Team members have been on board for over 5 years. Collectively, we offer the community over 27 years’ experience with breast health and breast cancer services, client care and operating a mission-driven organization. Our dedication to UBCF’s mission and most importantly, the women, men and families we serve, is palpable in all we do every single day.
UBCF’s clientele is primarily women ages 30 – 65, low-income and under or non-insured. Losing hope, our clients turn to us seeking support often after been denied assistance by other agencies and organizations, particularly women under the age of 40. While UBCF is a national organization, we maintain an intimate approach to client care and service, ensuring that every person who seeks our assistance is treated with honor and reverence. We aspire to navigate our clients along their journey, providing opportunities for each individual to cultivate a more peaceful and enriching experience. UBCF remains in close contact with our clients, even after they have received services through our programs.

Transparency & Accountability
UBCF prides itself on transparency and accountability in all aspects of our operations. Financially, we are funded through generous donations and believe you have the right to see your dollars at work. Below are UBCF’s latest financial documents.
Since its inception in 2000, UBCF has relied on a robust direct response program to recruit and maintain the large Membership that gives us the opportunity to provide services, education and public outreach to those impacted by breast cancer. We communicate by postal mail, phone and other channels; not only to generate income, but to reach out and make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer by educating the public thereby advancing the mission of UBCF. As a result, in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines, UBCF allocates a portion of our direct response costs to program services and to fundraising.
